Connect

KC Friends Ministry

KC Friends welcomes children age 3 through 6th grade with special needs to connect to the heart and Word of God by allowing them to participate in the classroom with the help of a KC Friend.

KC Friends serves children with a variety of disorders including autism, down syndrome/developmental delays and bi-polar disorder, as well as children with physical special needs and/or wheelchair accessibility needs. Whatever the diagnosis, our goal for your child’s spiritual development is the same: to teach the good news of Jesus Christ at whatever level your child can manage.

Before You Arrive

Because of the nature of this one-on-one ministry, advance registration is necessary. In order to ensure that a KC Friend is available for your child, please contact Joan Hoffman prior to bringing your child (contact info below). We will then confirm with you when we have a volunteer KC Friend available to provide Sunday morning assistance for your child. At that time, we will look forward to having your child join us.

Location and Safety Procedures

The Elementary classrooms and the KC Registration Desk are located on the 1st floor in the Kid Connection area (see map).  Two elevators are located at the west end of the building.  Every child must be signed in by a parent or guardian to be admitted to class. (Additional Safety & Security Information)

What to Bring

No specific materials are needed to attend, other than what your child might need.  Please mark any items brought from home with your child’s name.

When You Arrive

As a guest, please register at the KC Registration Desk located in the 1st floor Kid Connection. You will be asked to complete a registration form. This form includes any special needs or allergy information about your child.

An adult or responsible teen (KC Friend) is partnered with your special needs child to help throughout the morning and will meet your child at the KC Registration Desk when you check in. The KC Friend is there to help your child focus on the biblical lessons and application being taught in the classroom.
