ServeIn Your World
We challenge our people to begin thinking beyond themselves, to think in more global and cross-cultural terms about God and His mission and purposes in this world; and then to think about how we can serve and support God’s mission and purposes globally.
Short-term Opportunities
Each year individuals and teams are equipped and supported as they serve God’s mission and purposes in different places throughout the U.S. and other countries. In recent years, teams and individuals have served in the following arenas:
- International sports and English camp in Germany
- Christian outreach and leadership camps in Russia for local youth and college students
- English Language Camp in Quebec, Canada
- NYC inner-city basketball camp
- Senior High and Family trips to Mexico to meet construction/educational needs in local churches and visit orphanages
- Hurricane Katrina relief
- Family mission trips to Mexico working with local churches to meet community needs
- Senior High service in Inner City St. Louis
- Children’s Camp in Belize
- Preliminary Trip to Haiti
Individuals may travel and serve outside of the St. Louis area or stay right here and serve the team by helping in “home base” support.
Long-term Opportunities
Since 1983 First Free has sent 72 members on long-term assignments around the world, and we continue to support and mentor individuals considering this kind of commitment.
We also see our missionaries as an integral part of our First Free family and want to care for them well. We form support teams around each missionary so they receive the encouragement, prayer and the practical help needed as they serve away from St. Louis.
Church to Church Partnerships
At First Free we realize we can’t go-it-alone in reaching out globally. We want to work with others and partner with churches and organizations internationally so that together we can have a greater impact in sharing the love of Christ. The goal of these long-term partnerships is to develop healthy, local leadership and churches which in turn have a spiritual impact on their communities. We are currently working with partnerships in the following areas:
- Tatarstan
- Germany
- Middle East/North Africa
