Our ideal Video Media Designer will be able to suggest ideas in out-of-the-box, creative ways to integrate and implement digital media church-wide, improving and enhancing ministry effectiveness. This person will also be an original thinker who has exceptional character and works well with a variety of people.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be able to suggest ideas in out-of-the-box, creative ways to integrate and implement digital media church-wide, improving and enhancing ministry effectiveness.

This person should be able to take direction from the Technical Ministry Director and the Communications Director, and be able to set aside personal preferences in order to fulfill the mission of First Free Church.

This person will also be an original thinker who has exceptional character and works well with a variety of people.

This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position. of approximately 40 hours per week. The Video Media Designer is part of the Technical and Communication teams and reports to the Technical Ministry Director.

  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and other ministries to develop media that engages our congregation and community, including but not limited to:
    – Videos (announcement, promotional, testimonial, social media content, etc)
    – Photos (for promotional use, social media content, special events, etc)
    – Graphics for use in both print and electronic media [if skills are available]
  • Create and upload digital media to be used on TVs around the building [as assigned].
  • Use current technology and communication methods to carry out the Communications Department’s strategic plan.
  • Assist in creating social media content and fostering social media engagement.
  • Assist with website maintenance as needed [if skills are available].
  • Lead the Sunday broadcast video team by building camaraderie, setting schedules, advising, and training staff and volunteers on proper execution.
  • Direct live video for weekend services and service uploads to online platforms.
  • Assist with other production duties campus wide as assigned by Production Director

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with all aspects of video production with an emphasis on live video broadcasting & pre/post video production [photography is a plus]
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere and After Effects– Photoshop and Lightroom are a plus)
  • An adequate understanding of Blackmagic ATEM switchers, Broadcast cameras and lenses, wiring diagrams and signal flow
  • Experience directing live multi-camera events in a high pressure environment
  • Able to carry/manage video/photography equipment
  • Graphic design and/or web design experience a plus
