The Kid Connection (KC) Team Leader’s primary responsibility is to provide oversight and
leadership to the KC Staff Team.


Children's Ministry Team Leader Job Description:

The Kid Connection (KC) Team Leader’s primary responsibility is to provide oversight and leadership to the KC Staff Team. This includes:

  • Casting vision for children’s ministry at First Free Church in coordination with the Senior Pastor and other Family Ministries Staff.
  • Providing guidance to the team as they develop dynamic, faith-building ministries for the discipleship of children.
  • Spending time working on ministry improvement and equipping staff to equip volunteers who accomplish routine ministry tasks and oversee regular operations.
  • Leading the KC Team on ministry-wide events and initiatives.

This position is a part-time, hourly (non-exempt) position of approximately 20 hours per week. The KC Team Leader is a part of the KC Staff Team and reports directly to the Senior Pastor.

  •  Lead KC Staff meetings and training.
  • Coordinate the development of projects and events.
  • Regularly observe staff and volunteers during KC ministry activities and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Oversee the KC budget.
  • Communicate with the Senior Pastor on ministry health, staff expectations, and general planning.
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of children’s curriculum.
  • Work with the KC Staff Team to provide training and support for parents.
  • Ensure staff are developing their leadership pipelines, proactively equipping volunteers, establishing leadership teams, and building a “bench” of capable volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Complies with a background check.
  • Proficient with email and Google Docs.
