Worship Intern

We are looking for a passionate, humble, gifted worship intern to join our team. Our intern will join our rotation of worship leaders, assist in the worship preparation process, and invest in other musicians and vocalists.

Job Description:

The First Free worship internship is a dynamic opportunity for a worship leader looking to develop heart, passion, and gifting for full-time worship ministry. First Free’s worship ministry embraces a model of team leadership, where teams of worship leaders lead worship for our different services and meet regularly to shepherd and serve our people. 

This is a part-time, hourly position (non-exempt) working approximately 20 hours per week. The Worship Ministry Intern is a part of the Worship Ministry Team and reports directly to the Student Ministries Worship Pastor with additional investment/mentoring from the senior pastor and other worship leadership team members.

We offer a competitive hourly rate, and candidates may qualify for a housing benefit provided by the church.

  • Join our monthly rotation of worship leaders for our Sunday morning, Senior High, Junior High and Children’s Ministry services.
  • Occasionally serve as a supporting band member or vocalist in these worship venues.
  • Meet regularly with worship staff for training,  development, and planning.
  • Invest in other musicians and vocalist to provide training, development, and discipleship – especially for student musicians in 4th-12th grade.
  • Help build Ableton sessions for worship services (training provided).
  • Assist in the worship preparation process by planning worship services, creating chord charts, and communicating with team members via Planning Center.
  • Depending on passion and gifting, opportunities exist to serve in technical productions in audio, computer graphics, lighting, and video.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience leading worship for modern, contemporary services.
  • Skill, experience, and prior training as a vocalist, instrumentalist, and worship leader.
