The Senior High Pastor is responsible for leading First Free’s ministry to students in grades 9-12.
Job Description:
The Senior High Pastor is responsible for leading First Free’s ministry to students in grades 9-12. This includes:
- Provide leadership and vision to Senior High and volunteers.
- Develop students and volunteers through the use of the Leadership Pipeline.
- Assist in the creation of weekly programs, special events, retreats, mission trips, and camps designed to facilitate students’ spiritual development.
- Provide pastoral care to students and their families.
This position is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position of approximately 45-50 hours per week. The Senior High Pastor is part of the Family Ministries team and reports directly to the Pastor of Family Ministries.
- Work with the Student Ministries staff and lead volunteers to develop a sound program of relevant, life-changing, Bible instruction.
- Proactively create opportunities to come alongside parents.
- Oversee recruitment and training of volunteers.
- Work with staff to develop leadership pathways for students and volunteers.
- Develop effective, creative, biblical teaching for weekly Senior High programming.
- Encourage and develop others to utilize their teaching gifts.
- Strategically create opportunities for students to interact, serve, and connect with the church body as a whole.
- Oversee the planning and administration of Senior High camps, retreats, mission trips, and outreach events.
- Work with other Student Ministries staff to regularly review Student Ministry’s safety and security procedures.
- Oversee applicable portions of the Student Ministry budget.
- Support the mission and vision of First Free Church.
- Continue to grow professionally and spiritually by participating in outside opportunities to include conferences, seminars, reading, and networking.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or greater. Seminary or formal Bible training preferred.
- Experience leading a student ministry of 100 to 150 students.
- Proven success in the following areas:
- Recruiting, leading and equipping adult volunteers
- Creative and applied Bible teaching to large groups of students utilizing storytelling and other methodologies
- Implementing and facilitating small group ministries
- Organizing, planning, and administrating student activities such as camps, mission trips, and retreats
